New Avatar Trailer – Updated Preview for November 2009
A few months back we offered our first look at James Cameron’s latest opus, Avatar. Now, with a nifty new trailer on Youtube, we’re unsure as ever.
Around this time last year, the web was abuzz with Waterworld the Musical – an undisclosed trailer starting Patrick Warburton of Seinfeldian fame. The trailer (below) was a rather ingenious marketing push for Made for Each Other, a madcap comedy directed by Daryl Bob Goldberg.
A year later, MFEO has finally found distribution – it’s being released by IFC (a practical example of the power of online marketing). Check out the full trailer for Made for Each Other on Apple.com.

After a decade-long absence from the film industry, Troy Duffy has returned with Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. Sean Patrick Flannery, Billy Connolly, and Norman Reedus have all returned for the sequel, and Clifton Collins Jr. (most recently of Star Trek fame) joins cast.

Both 2007’s Beowulf and 2004’s The Polar Express were marvels of computer generated imagery, but lacked the fun and magic that is necessary to make a great film. We’re hoping that A Christmas Carol is different.

For about ten years, fanboys have been wagering what would come first: James Cameron’s next movie or the release of Duke Nukem Forever. Well, as of May 6th, 2009 – DNF is officially DOA and James Cameron’s Avatar is very much a (virtual?) reality.

We’re going to go out on a limb here and say in advance that 2012 is probably a mish-mash of convoluted plot, cringe-worthy melodrama, and overblown special effects. But to the last point, the special effects that we’ve seen in the trailer look really, really good.

Can Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock recapture the uncertainty of the 1960s? Probably not. But it looks to be a fun and heartfelt tribute to Woodstock, 40 long years later.
